Covalyn IELTS (“we”, “us”) provides live online IELTS preparation classes. This policy covers our website and our classes. The business is operated by Covalyn Systems, Delhi, India.

We never see or store your full card, UPI or bank credentials. Payments are processed by our payment providers.
The website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. When you open the payment window, Razorpay may set its own cookies to process the payment securely and prevent fraud.
Anonymous visit statistics. To understand how the site is used, we count page visits and a few actions (such as opening the enrolment form). Each count records the page, the country your connection comes from, the website that referred you, and your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop). We do not store your IP address and we use no cookies for this. Visits on the same day are grouped using a code that changes every day, so the statistics cannot follow you over time or identify you.
03How we use it
- To assess your level, place you in a cohort and set your targets
- To run classes, mark your writing and track your progress
- To bill you in the correct currency and cohort for your region
- To contact you about your classes, schedule changes and payments
- To improve our teaching materials (using anonymised, aggregated results only)
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
04Immigration referrals
We only share your details with an immigration service if you ask us to.
Many students take IELTS for Canadian permanent residence or a permit. If you ask for a pathway check (by ticking the box on the onboarding form, or by messaging Covalyn Migration from our CLB checker), we will pass your name, contact details, goal and IELTS/CLB results to Covalyn Migration, which is a separate service. Immigration advice is provided only by licensed professionals.
You can say no, or withdraw your consent later, and it will not affect your classes in any way.
06Class recordings
Live classes are recorded so students can catch up on missed sessions. Recordings are shared only with students in the same cohort and are kept for 90 days, then deleted.
You can keep your camera off at any time. If you would prefer not to appear in recordings, tell us and we will help you take part in a way you are comfortable with.
07Where your data is stored
Our providers may store data outside your country, including in the United States, Canada and India. We choose providers with appropriate safeguards and use only the data we need.
08How long we keep it
- Enquiries that did not enrol: 12 months after last contact
- Student records (progress, essays, results): 2 years after your last class
- Billing records: as long as tax law requires (typically 6–8 years)
- Class recordings: 90 days
- Assessment voice recordings: 12 months, then deleted
09Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Canada’s PIPEDA, you can:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information, unless we must keep it by law
- Withdraw consent you have given, e.g. for an immigration referral
- Complain to your local data protection authority

10Students under 18
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to your enrolment and to this policy on your behalf.
11Security
We limit access to student data to the people who teach or support you, use accounts protected with two-factor authentication, and share class links only with enrolled students. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
12Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will tell current students directly.
